Stephen King to write for 'The Walking Dead'? Yes, please. - From Inside the Box - Zap2it
In the news that has us absolutely gushing with anticipation, master storyteller Stephen King is reportedly signing on to writing at least one episode of AMC's killer zombie-pocalypse hit, "The Walking Dead."
King confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that he's in talks to write an episode for long-time pal Frank Darabont. Not a massive surprise, considering Darabont penned (and directed) the big-screen adaptation of King's "The Shawshank Redemption" and went on to direct both "The Green Mile" and "The Mist."
This development could take show further afield from the source material -- Robert Kirkman's comic books -- but since season one wasn't utterly faithful to the graphic novels yet still managed to draw a cultish audience, we're trusting Darabont and King to do a bang up job.
Production for season two is ramping up now and, in other behind-the-scenes scuttle, director Edgar Wright ("Shaun of the Dead"/"Scott Pilgrim vs. the World") is rumored to have been approached to direct an episode.
