SHARON STONE AND J. LO TOP MOST-PAUSED MOVIE MOMENTS

In a stunning revelation, it turns out that most people pause DVDs in order to get a better look at cinematic nudity. Dark Horizons reports on a poll by subscription service Lovefilm that inquired as to viewers' pausing habits and came up with a list of the top ten most-paused movies in movie-dom. Most of the moments on the list are either explicitly or subliminally sexual. Standing tall at number one, for example, is Sharon Stone's infamous leg-uncrossing in Paul Verhoeven's Basic Instinct. The number two spot is occupied by a glimpse at Jennifer Lopez's backside in the otherwise unremarkable The Back Up Plan. To see the rest of the alternatively erotic and nerdy most-paused top ten, simply continue reading, left to right, top to bottom.
The third most-paused moment is Star Wars shot in which a stormtrooper accidentally smacks his head on a spacedoor. Rounding out the geeky moments in the top ten: a Marvel crossover hint at number seven, with Captain America's shield in the background of Tony Stark's workshop, and the brief inclusion of video-game icon Pac-Man in the original Tron holding it down in ninth place.
Back to the hardcore nudity you're all interested in, though. The fourth most-paused image is that of Jamie Lee Curtisas a hooker with a heart of gold baring her breasts to Dan Aykroyd in Trading Places. The super-brief frames of a phallus at the end of Fight Club take sixth place, and Nicole Kidman dropping her gear in Eyes Wide Shut brings up the figurative rear at number ten.
As for those subliminal bits of sexiness, you can count on two animated movies to capture our basest attentions. Cartoon vixen Jessica Rabbit's dress breezing upwards in Who Framed Roger Rabbit slides into fifth place, while the word "sex" appearing on the wind in The Lion King is the eighth most-paused image.
Who would have thought that the pause feature would be put to such prurient purposes? It's comforting to know that, even in this fabulous modern age of technological marvels, we still live to serve our primitive lizard brain.
Are there any in-jokes or images that you're surprised to see aren't more widely paused (keep it clean-ish; your mother probably reads your comments).
