Arcade Fire, Lady Antebellum Big Winners at 2011 Grammys | Billboard.com
Shocks, 1st Arcade Fire beats Eminem for Album of the year, no way! Em's album "Recovery" in my opinion is his best to date, and I think his "No Love" track is so under rated. 2nd Esperanza Spalding beat Drake and Justin Bieber (well the latter I'm glad for), I guess it's time to google the singer.
I'm glad The Black Keys beat Arcade Fire in awards Best Alternative Album, Best Rock Performance for Duo/Group for "Tighten Up, oh an award for Art Direction for their album "Brothers". The beat a fav of mine Kings of Leon in the Best Rock Performance. This is Black Keys 6th album, wow who knew (you do know).
There were many performance and very little awards given out the night.
Christina Aguilera in my opinion rebounded from the Super Bowl Performance, even though she almost fell...can't she catch a break. Jennifer Hudson and the rest of the line up was good, sounded like they were fighting for best vocals in a screaming match towards the end of Aretha tribute. Justin Bieber's performance was not good for me, I don't even think he has a good voice way too much hype around him. Usher sang the same tired song again, OMG indeed. Bruno Mars is a bad ass vocalist, loved the throwback James Brown feel. I love oldies and I can tell he does too, B.O.B and Janelle Monae an Bruno meshed well together. Lady Gaga, God...she should have stayed in that egg (BTW I do think she ripped of "Express Yourself" as well). What the hell was that performance, I didn't think she would peak this fast but that song; outfit and performance was horrible. Katy Perry,I loved her especially with the mute button (don't need to hear, just see). Rihanna, Eminem and Dr. Dre killed it. Rihanna and Drake not that great except for the grinding. Cee Lo + Gwyneth Paltrow + Muppets colorful performance was great and different.
Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna and Katy Perry looked sexy on the red carpet.
